Washington A Cappella Chat Room

This coming Sunday, September 30th, we are holding an all-a-cappella concert to benefit the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund.  Similar concerts are being held simultaneously in 20 cities across North America, starting with the national anthem being sung at exactly the same time in each city.  Because this is a nationwide event, we are calling it "Voices Across America".

For the Seattle area, our benefit concert is being held at Crossroads Shopping Center in Bellevue, starting at precisely 12 noon!  Groups performing include Kickshaw, III of a Kind (from the Philippines), ACappellaGo, Kryptonite, and others!

Please join us for this exciting afternoon of a cappella music in all of its forms!  Bring your friends!  The concert is free, and there will be a Red Cross volunteer on hand to accept your generous donations.

The Crossroads Shopping Center is at the corner of N.E. 8th Street and 156th Ave N.E. in Bellevue.  The stage is at the center of the mall, near the food court.

The group III of a Kind, from the Philippines, are currently on a tour of the United States, and it is pure providence that they are in the Seattle area at just the right time to lend their voices to our cause!  If you are unable to make it to our Sunday event to hear them, they also have performances in the Seattle area on Friday and Saturday.  For more information, go to http://threeinseattle.tripod.com/.

Our National Press Release:
On September 30th, vocal groups from across the country will be performing free public concerts to benefit those affected by the recent tragic events in our nation. From New York to Los Angeles, Orlando to Seattle, barbershop, choral, gospel, and contemporary music groups will gather together to unite in Voices Across America. Most major cities will be participating, with all of the groups in those cities singing the National Anthem as their first song. Concerts will begin at noon on the west coast and 3pm on the east, with all groups singing the same song at the same time, across all time zones, respectively. Full performances will then ensue, free for all to enjoy. Donations will also be accepted and 100% of the proceeds will go to aid the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. Come and experience this united effort and enjoy some of the most talented singers around! You can discover more about this event and information pertaining to these groups at Vocal Universe (www.vocaluniverse.com) and the Contemporary A Cappella Society (www.casa.org).
